On March 7 and 8, the Longview ISD Foundation’s Grants Giveaway surprised teachers, counselors, nurses and librarians with news that they had received funding for classroom projects through the sixteenth annual Grants-to-Teachers Program. The Foundation funded 31 classroom grants totaling $$40,819.66.
The Grants Giveaway also awarded two Campus Initiative Grants on March 7, one to Hudson PEP Elementary School for $1,000 to help build a small pond on the campus for science instruction and one to the L.E.A.D. Academy for $4,014.00 to take over seventy students to NASA in Houston in October 2011 for science instruction.
